Do I need an account?
No. Porcom works without an account or sign-up. Your journal is stored on your iPhone and synced with your private iCloud, which we can’t access.
Adding titles
How do I add a movie or a series?
Search by title: the poster, summary, cast and trailer come from TMDB. A series is added one season at a time, each with its own poster and verdict. You can also type a title in by hand.
Progress
How do I keep track of where I am in a series?
Tap Continue after each episode, or pick the episode you’re on. Every update is saved as a viewing session, which feeds your statistics, your calendar and your streak.
Verdicts
Why verdicts instead of stars?
Because they’re the blog’s: 👎 Meh, 👍 Liked, ❤️ Loved it! and 🔥 Devoured!. To go further, rate the script, characters, acting, directing, visuals, soundtrack and ending from one to five stars.
Where to watch
Where can I watch a title?
Each title’s page shows the subscription services where it’s available in Canada, from JustWatch data provided by TMDB.
Backups
What if I change iPhones?
Your journal syncs with your iCloud and comes back on your new iPhone. You can also export a Porcom backup file at any time and restore it on another iPhone.
Letterboxd
Can I export to Letterboxd?
Yes. Porcom exports the movies you’ve watched to a CSV file in Letterboxd’s import format, with the date you watched, your verdict and your notes. Series stay in the Porcom backup.
Android
Is Porcom available on Android?
No. Porcom is available for iPhone, in English and French.
